My Granddaughter

I just realised that I had neglected to tell you something very wonderful that happened this summer. I tend to forget that many of the peoples who visit this blog are not members of MySpace, Facebook or my forums. My apologies to you all. ((hugs))

Our first grandchild was born to our son Joe and his partner, Cary Ann. On Thursday, August 9 at 7:21 p.m., baby Jordan Judyann arrived and weighed 7 lbs, 7.25 ounces and she was 18 1/2 inches long.

I was blessed to have been able to be in the delivery room and take part in this wonderous miracle of birth. It is a memory that I shall never forget. I was able to touch my granddaughter within minutes of her birth, to feel her soft skin for the first time. Within about 10 minutes (after her mommy and daddy had held her), I was able to hold her. What a beautiful feeling that was!

After about an hour or so, Jordan's mommy and daddy went out for some fresh air and a wee break, and I got to babysit my granddaughter for the first time. I spent the entire time in a rocking chair with her in my arms. My wee angel. :)
